Every day people struggle with their acne problems, it is not uncommon for people to have multiple breakouts that for many seem to not go away despite everything they try. If you suffer from acne know that you are not alone.

In order to get rid of your acne you will need to make some changes to your skin care routine, however in many cases the changes necessary do not need be particularly drastic, on the contrary very often just a few changes can go a long way.

One very important thing to note is that you must be gentle with your skin, it is all too common for people when they have acne to start scrubbing their face and generally being hard on their skin.

Acne is caused by the collecting of dirt, bacteria and oil in pores in the skin which are later covered over to form a pimple. So the truth is the more oil your face produces the more likely you are going to have a problem with acne.

However as we all know there are many people that have very oily skin but don’t end up getting acne. The reason for this is that if the skin does not cover up your oily pores pimples cannot form, this is why cleaning up the oil and dirt on your face alone is simply not enough.

Exfoliating is vital as in doing so you will be removing the skin that covers your pores and keeps the oil and dirt etc from going away. This ideally would be done every couple of days or at the least twice weekly.

Naturally this is not something you would want to overdo as in doing so you could make your skin dry or leave it more exposed to the elements. Nevertheless exfoliating is important and should not be left out of your routine.

It can definitely be of benefit to make use of acne skin care products when up against a breakout since these products normally have been put together to clean away certain bacteria while drying up the oil on your face.

However using these products on areas of a place that do not have acne is not a good idea, as these products tend to be very strong. Also remember that generally speaking these products are only to treat acne breakouts and not to prevent them from forming in the first place.

You certainly do not want to end up with dry and irritated skin, but that’s what you could end up with if you were to use these products on say your neck or cheeks when they do not have pimples on them.

You should be able to enjoy healthier skin by applying what you have learnt in this article as long as you do it on a continuous basis. Just remember that anti-acne skin care is only for treating acne and should not be used on other acne free areas of your skin.
