Eczema can often be the result of your clothing. Certain materials such as wool, synthetic materials including polyester and even denim can bring on an attack of eczema. If you find you are frequently itchy throughout the day, this could be due to your clothing.

The only one-hundred percent non-eczema inducing material is cotton. Wear only cotton clothes for a few weeks and there is a very good chance that you could experience a dramatic improvement

Here is another interesting fact: Alcohol is one of the worst offenders for eczema, due to the large amounts of sulphites and other allergens it contains. If you drink alcohol on a regular basis, you will probably find your skin often takes a turn for the worst.

Reducing your alcohol intake and drinking lots of water will help with reducing your Eczema. Wines and beer/lager contain more sulphites than other forms of alcohol.

Do you know what foods you are allergic to? Most eczema sufferers have food allergies or intolerances. You can easily find out which foods may be causing your eczema by taking a skin test at your local surgery. Ask your doctor for details. If this is not an easy option for you, you can do it by yourself. This method is not quite so accurate but as part of your natural eczema treatment, can still give pretty conclusive results.

Try keeping a paper diary of which foods you eat each day and when you feel itchy or an eczema rash appears. After a period of around 3- 4 weeks, you should see a correlation between the foods eaten and the eczema break-outs.
