Natural Skin Care

With age our skin starts to lose some important components which, when we were young, all combined to produce healthy skin. But with age our skin starts to lose some essential qualities such as skin elasticity. Elasticity kept our skin supple and firm when we were young, but with loss of elasticity with age our skin gets looser, starts to sag and forms wrinkles. There’s 3 essential skin proteins that contribute to the elasticity called keratin, elastin and collagen.

Keratin is a protein which forms very strong fibres and is found in our skin as well as parts of our bodies such as a hair and nails. Keratin is very tough and makes up a large part of the epidermis. This contributes to skin strength and waterproofing, and forms an almost plastic layer on the outer part of our skin. Keratin is actually a family of proteins rather than one.

The outermost layer of the skin is primarily composed of dead cells containing keratin which also help protect it. And if we can increase the amount of keratin in our skin this helps it produce new cells. As we age our skin slowly decreases its ability to produce new cells.

For this reason many anti aging care products use keratin in the product. However the form of keratin that they use is not one that the skin is able to make use of. This is because these products utilize keratin which has been extracted from the horns, hooves and feathers of animals and birds by a process which uses a combination of high temperatures and acid to extract the keratin. This changes the form and makes it unavailable to the skin. However a new product called Cynergy TK has changed this.

Cynergy TK isn’t really a product. Strictly speaking it is an ingredient found in skin care products, but only in the best skin care products. It is made in New Zealand by a small company which has patented it. Studies on the effects of using skin care products with Cynergy TK have shown very impressive results.

The keratin is taken from the wool of sheep but it is not extracted using either heat or acid. This produces keratin which is virtually identical to that found in our skin and this is very effective at helping the skin repair itself. It also helps the skin to produce new cells and these 2 factors increases skin elasticity and moisture retention.

As well this form of keratin helps the skin produce more collagen and elastin which in turn also increases skin elasticity.

Studies have shown an improvement in moisture levels of– percent after’ days use of anti aging products containing Cynergy TK as well as an improvement in skin elasticity of 42 percent over the same time. Of course all of this improves skin health and elasticity which leads to less wrinkles and healthy skin.
