Aren’t we all concerned about aging? Aging is one of the most talked about subjects there is. Why is this? It’s because as a society, we take pride in looking nice and having an attractive appearance.

Aging is a natural process that we all have to go through. While being generally the same for all of us, it does however affect us all in a little bit different way. As we grow older, wrinkles and fine lines begin to appear, especially on our face.

Aging is natural and affects us all. There are things we do that can actually speed up the aging process. This is not what we want.

Here are some things that can make your skin age prematurely and cause you to look older than you are.

Even though sunshine is important to health in small doses, it can be very damaging to your skin in too high of amounts. Too much sun can lead to premature wrinkles and make you skin have the texture of leather. Too much sun is the leading cause of facial wrinkles.

Besides darkening your skin, overexposure can remove your skin’s natural layer of protection. When this happens, harmful UV rays damage the skin’s texture and cause harm to your skin. If you stay out in the sun too long for too many years, you can even get skin cancer.

When you stay out in the sun too long without wearing sunscreen, your skin can start to sag and look like leather. While this in itself is bad, skin cancer is the worst. This is something we all want to avoid. You should always wear sunscreen If you’ll be out in the sun for more than ten minutes.

If exposed to strong sunlight, you can wear a hat to protect your neck and face from overexposure. You can use SPF 20 if only outside for short periods. If you’ll be out longer than this, wear something stronger like SPF 60.

Smoking is terrible for your skin. While smoking, you bring dangerous chemicals into your body that are not only bad for your general health, but extremely bad for your skin. Avoid smoking if you can. Smoking uses up your supply of vitamin C which your body needs to maintain healthy skin.

Second hand smoke can also lead to early skin aging. Smoking can really damage the skin. It may be as harmful as too much exposure to the sun!

Alcohol is really bad for your skin. Alcohol dilated blood vessels and can increase the blood flow to the surface of your skin. Besides being bad for your health in general, alcohol can really harm your skin. Avoid it as much as possible.

Drinking causes red cheeks and broken blood vessels, resulting in a bad appearance.
