What Epson Bath Salts Can Do For You

I always walked by the different colorful packages of bath salts at the store, but didn’t think too much about them except they looked really nice. I didn’t know a thing about them, and I didn’t find any reason to use them at home. I always thought they were geared towards luxurious people.

treat diseases, offer well being, skin care and relaxation. It can be defined as the therapeutic use of essential oils for prevention and/or auxiliary treatment

Sandalwood Still As Important As Before

Overview

Sandalwood is one of the oldest aromatic materials, being acknowledged in ancient biblical and in Indian text as well as used in religious ceremonies throughout the ages. Botanically known as a small evergreen in the genus Santalum and family Santalaceae, this modest-sized tree (up to 10 meters) provides a great deal of commerce for India and to some extent Australia and is now being examined by the medical industry for its medicinal properties. There are several species of Santalum, but only a few are used commercially, most notably Santalum album (India) and Santalum spicatum (Australia). Other tress from such places as Polynesia and Fuji are in small numbers and in great decline. Oddly, other plants such as the Bead Tree or Candlewood are known as sandalwood but are not botanically parallel. Sometimes, non-related plants such as Red Sandalwood are used as fillers for the more expensive, genuine sandalwood.

Tears of the Olibanum Tree: The Incredible Medicine of Frankincense

Historical Significance

It is December at the time of this writing and Christmas carols are being played; children are practicing their lines for the traditional Christmas story of the birth of baby Jesus and how the Wise Men (Magi) brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. To many in western culture, this is the sole association of frankincense. Yet in other parts of the world, frankincense has for centuries been of traditional, ceremonial and medicinal importance; in ancient times its price was that equal to gold. Old Testament Biblical text recorded the burning of its incense, regarding such a practice as holy; medical texts of practitioners from around the ancient world recorded the uses and applications of frankincense. The centuries old legend of the Phoenix describes a bird-like creature that built its nest from twigs of frankincense and fed upon the tears of the resin with having supernatural powers to die and be born anew. For thousands of years the Phoenix was a mythical symbol of resurrection, rejuvenation and immorality.
